Search Engine Optimization Process

Here is what you should expect during the course of your campaign.

Day 1 - Welcome

Your account has been created in our Client Center and you should receive the "Welcome Email" inviting you to login. Our Client Center is the central communication platform used to interact with your Project Manager, Account Manager, and all people active with your project. You will be able to view reports, milestones, to-do lists and more.

You will receive a message from your Project Manager requesting a number of "Core" keywords that you would like to rank well for in the search engines. We use this list of core keywords to make recommendations for your campaign. Once we receive your list of core keywords, we proceed to step 2.

Step 2 - Keyword Analysis / Site Audit

Keyword Analysis - We research the core list of keywords that you provided and build additional keywords and phrases to use in your campaign. We will analyze your site, your competition, number of searches and more for each keyword and use this information to make a formal recommendation for your campaign. Once we have approval on the recommended keywords for your campaign, we proceed to Step 3.

Site Audit - As a value added service we provide a very thorough site audit. We look at the integrity of your code, links, meta information, heavy pages, potential accessibility issues and more. We compile this information into printable reports that you can keep or give to your webmaster to correct any issues we find. If we find issues with your website, we may recommend that these issues be corrected prior to the launch of your campaign.

Step 3 - Baseline Reporting & Optimization Phase

Baseline Ranking Report - We run current ranking reports for your website against all of the targeted campaign keywords to established a baseline. Future ranking reports will be compared back to the baseline to analyze our performance as an SEO Firm. This is completed prior to the optimization of your website.

Link Analysis Reports - We run a query on how many inbound links to your site are currently indexed in the search engines. The search engines regard links to your website, especially links in related categories, as a qualification for relevance. It is assumed that your site is important or highly relevant if lots of other websites in your industry or genre link to your website. Our reports will display how many inbound links you have in the various search engines as well as who is linking to you. This initial Link Analysis report is considered the baseline and all future Link Analysis reports will be compared back to the baseline.

Page Optimization - We optimize existing pages or build new optimized pages and upload to your server. While optimizing your pages we adhere to approved methods as to not get your domain banned in the search engines. Some companies use methods that are not favorable to the search engines such as stuffing keywords, page redirects, and page cloaking. During the optimization process, we may request that you provide additional keyword rich content to be used on your website.

HTML Site map - An HTML Site map may be added if one does not already exist in your site. If you currently have a site map, we will analyze and optimize if needed to ensure search engine friendliness.

XML Site map . Google and yahoo now support XML site maps as a way to insure that every page in your website is indexed equally and regularly. This is a new service that the Google and Yahoo support and we hope that using this method increases site inclusion time.

Step 4

Baseline Report Presentation - We upload the baseline reports mentioned in Step 3 to the Client Center. The future Ranking and Link Analysis reports will be compared back to the baseline reports.

Site Map Submission - We manually submit the xml site maps we created to Google and Yahoo for indexing and inclusion.

Manual Site Submission - We manually submit your website to each of the major search engines for inclusion. Index and inclusion times vary greatly between the major search engines.

Monthly Billing Cycle - We begin the billing cycle for your SEO campaign. The monthly maintenance is very important in improving and maintaining your rankings in the search engines.

Monthly Campaign Maintenance - Month 1 and Beyond

Ongoing Page Optimization- On a monthly basis we will analyze rankings and make changes if needed to some of your optimized pages. Optimization is only performed on pages that are not ranking in a top 10 position. Once you have a top ten ranking for a specific keyword, it best not make further changes to the code, rather improve the off page aspects of the campaign such as inbound links.

Link Management - As your campaign progresses, we research and analyze who is linking to the top competitors for each keyword in your campaign. We identify sites that would benefit your rankings and take steps to add an inbound link to their website. This process is manual and a number of hours is included with each campaign.

Manual Site Submission - We manually submit your website to each of the major search engines for inclusion. This process is done each and every month. If new pages have been added to your website, then your XML site maps are recreated and submitted to the search engines.

Reporting - You will receive Ranking and Link Analysis reports Weekly, Bi-Weekly, or Monthly depending on your maintenance plan.
