"Atlantic Renewable Performs As Promised"
Meyersdale Wind Energy Center

The Meyersdale Windpower Project is a wind-powered electricity generating project with a nameplate capacity of 30 MW developed by Atlantic Renewable Energy Corporation in cooperation with Zilkha Renewable Energy LLC.

The Meyersdale project is located at a superb wind plant site just east of the town of Meyersdale in Somerset county which is located in southwestern Pennsylvania. The project site has an excellent wind resource and its development poses minimal environmental impacts. The project will utilized twenty NEG Micon 1.5 MW wind turbines with a 72 meter rotor and on a 80 meter tower.

The project will interconnect with the 115 kV Meyersdale North substation owned by First Energy (GPU-Penelec). For market operations, it will interconnect with the Pennsylvania-Jersey-Maryland (PJM) RTO. The Meyersdale Project will sell its entire output under a 20-year power purchase agreement to FirstEnergy Solutions Corporation.

In July, 2003 Atlantic Renewable and Zilkha Renewable sold their membership interests in Meyersdale Windpower LLC, the project company, to a subsidiary of FPL Energy LLC. FPL Energy LLC will be the constructor, owner and operator of this 30 MW project. The project is scheduled to start commercial operations by December 2003.
