| Canastota Windpower Project
Atlantic Renewable started the Canastota Windpower project, or "Fenner" project, in late 1998. The Fenner project is located in Central New York (25 miles west of the Madison project) and has a nameplate capacity of 30 MW. Following Atlantic Renewable's completion of all development work, project construction began in June 2001 with commercial operation starting in November 2001.
Atlantic Renewable's ability to develop this wind project was recognized by the New York Energy Research and Development Authority ("NYSERDA"), which selected the Fenner project to receive a grant under NYSERDA's recent competitive wind power solicitation.
In early 2001 Atlantic Renewable brought in CHI Energy, Inc as co-developer and owner of the Fenner project.
The project utilizes twenty 1.5 MW wind turbines which were supplied and installed by GE Wind LLC. M.A. Mortenson was selected as Balance-of-Plant contractor for the Fenner wind project. The Fenner project is the generating source of Community Energy's NewWind Energy product in New York.
